Excellent location - we did not find a better view of Etna anywhere else than when we opened the curtains in the morning!
The owner went beyond his duty to help us with any issues we had. He was extremely considerate of our needs.
Our toddler and baby loved this place, although it needs child proofing for very young kids (especially the stairs).
Stairs also dont have a hand rail which makes it difficult for older people or those with mobility issues.
Impressed with the house staff - especially the pool guy, who was charming, friendly and very kind.
We did not speak Italian which made communicating with cook too tricky. But the owner and check-in staff were always very understanding.
Some issues with minor leaky roof in bedroom, accessing the villa during a festival, an ant infestation in the kitchen, working out the hot water for bathing, and mosquitos (October). But again the owner was always at the end of the phone to help even at a late hour.
Hot shower by the pool was fabulous. Lovely big bathtub which the kids loved.
Tasteful interesting furnishing. The villa has lots of character.
We were delighted with all the help yourself food items in the kitchen (pasta, cereal, local honey etc) - very little need to go shopping!
This is a truely wonderful place that offers so much more than your average hotel. You will not be disappointed when you arrive. It is extremely easy to drive to.
Highly recommended for families, particularly once it is tweaked to accomodate seniors and children.
