The villa is lovely, well equiped and spotless. What you don't see from the pictures is that the outlook at the back is an orchard. It is not overlooked and feels very spacious. Omer and Katya are very helpful, we even had some figs picked for us a couple of mornings. A very well stocked little shop is 5 min walk away. An excellent restaurant is about 10 mins away. There is a bus, 5A, that can take you to a larger shop, beaches or into Pula. We went on a kayaking adventure and an evening dolphin spotting trip. I highly recommend staying here, it is peaceful, tranquil and the pool is great.

Villa has a beautiful outdoor space. Villa was pet clean and owner was really friendly. We had to make the beds in arrival at 11pm, not sure if this is normal in Croatia but not what you want to do after travelling. Click stay we’re amazing in the speed and customer service however novasol never responded to me on several occasions. Click stay however supported the second I said I wasn’t havinga response and really appreciate their help.

We spent our family holiday at this fabulous villa in Gavina Donja – 10 adults and 4 children! From the moment we arrived, Dada (ably supported by her husband, Neno) was the best of hosts. She was incredibly attentive and dealt with our every query straight away and we found all the facilities surpassed our expectations. We specifically chose a villa with a huge pool as we intended spending a lot of the week together. The heated infinity pool was amazing with a waterfall fountain, a rain curtain and a shallow end for little people. A hot tub overlooked the pool area. There was a beautiful pool house where we spent our evenings, cooking then eating around the huge covered table. Downstairs was a ‘cave’ where we could lounge and watch the family swimming from below. In the large garden we were able to play football, badminton, archery and, in the downstairs of the house itself, there was a pool table, table football, darts and TV with video games – lots to occupy everyone all of the time without feeling in each other’s pockets. The house could be divided into two separate apartments (2 x sitting/dining areas with access to the balconies, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms – only one of which was en-suite) but we had rented the whole house. No expense had been spared with the quality of furniture, kitchen equipment and the linen provided. Neno would visit quietly in the early morning, before we were up, to make sure the pool and hot tub were running smoothly and the garden was tended. I must admit, there is not a huge amount to do in the area; lakes, waterfall, Old town of Mostar (but beware that’s in Bosnia, if you have a hire car) and the small town of Imotski but there are supermarkets and eateries locally and there is quite enough to do around the house. A fabulous day out was arranged by Dada which involved a taxi ride to Makarska on the coast, then a boat trip to a nearby island. Lunch and wine was provided and we were able to swim from the boat in the clear blue Adriatic Sea. And one evening Dada and Neno cooked the local Peka dish on an open fire (for a small charge) which was absolutely delicious! We cannot thank Dada enough for providing such excellent facilities for us to have the most memorable holiday ever; I cannot think how she could have done more to ensure we had a wonderful time! Finally, I would like to add the following. Dada said she would have ensured we had a stocked fridge when we arrived had we wanted it; however the communication we had from the agent left a lot to be desired. We were provided with incorrect details about being able to pay for breakages ‘before’ we left for our holiday but this was not the case and proved to be very upsetting just days before leaving. This was not dealt with satisfactorily by the agent, in fact, the agent only emailed Dada with our query the day before we were coming home! Luckily Dada was very obliging and, between us, we sorted the problem.

I have stayed in studios before that compromise in certain areas, this studio is purpose built and perfectly formed. The perfect amount of space and all the utensils etc you need for your stay in a self catering property. Also plenty of towels, hairdryer etc. We hired a car and although there is a parking space just down the road, getting in and out using the one way road was sometimes daunting - to be fair this would have been a lot easier if our hire car company hadn’t provided us with a juggernaut of a car that we did not ask for! You do not need necessarily need a car, there are several nice beaches in walking distance as well as a couple of restaurants. We spent a lot more time in the property than we had planned as it is just so lovely and peaceful. The garden area is large with lots of olive and fig trees and sitting listening to the birds and the sea was wonderful. It also provides privacy from the pathway below. We spent most days visiting the nearby beaches on foot and wondering back to the studio when we got too hot or just fancied being in the wonderful space. We had bbqs most nights and the facilities were spot on. Silvio met us on check in and was really helpful and kind, easy to get hold of for check out and if we had needed anything throughout our stay, but we didn’t as everything was catered for. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return for another holiday if I have the chance. Oh, Dubrovnik is a short distance away, we took the local boat taxi that picks up/drops off just down from the studio as recommended by Silvio and was the perfect way to get in and out of the city. But dragging ourselves away from Plat was hard as it is just so lovely. 10/10
