Waterparks in Florida
When it comes to family fun in sensationally sunny Florida, it doesn’t get much better than a fantastic day out at a waterpark.
Of course, waterparks in Florida aren’t hard to come by, so how do you know which ones are the best?
Easy, you ask us.
1 Aquatica
Aquatica is one of the most popular waterparks in all of Florida, both delighting the kids and keeping the adults pretty entertained too! The park boasts some fantastic rides, with their latest one, the KareKare Curl, treating you to a magical feeling of weightlessness and speed! Other favourites include the brilliant Walhalla Wave, which is a thrilling 6-story water slide through various tunnels and maze-like turns, as well as the equally fun and competitive Taumata Racer, a fast-paced mat ride down heart-stopping incline!
Location: 5800 Water Play Way, Orlando, FL 32821
2 Adventure Island
If you’re someone who likes to chase a few thrills (or at least engage in some giggles) then Adventure Island might just be the one for you! It plays host to some of the most fantastic rides you could wish for, each with a distinct flavour and a whole lot of fun to be had. The Wahoo Ride is particularly good for families and will see you and your brood hurtling through waterfall curtains and around corkscrew turns as you all cling together on a shared raft! Elsewhere you might want to give the Runaway Rapids a go! Where speed meets altitude, this novelty ride combines multiple slides across various levels, all of which will see you immersed in the huge pool below. Eventually!
Location: 10001 McKinley Dr, Tampa, FL 33612-6401
3 Sun Splash Family Waterpark
Ideal for families, Sun Splash has become a favourite among holiday goers for its great rides, excellent birthday celebration opportunities and also aquatic classes aimed at getting children of all ages comfortable in the water. Some of the best rides include the Fun L Tunnel which incorporates a narrow tunnel that ends in a 30-foot drop for those of you who are daring enough to try! A less audacious ride is the Pro Racer slides, perfect for the younger ones in your group that allows them to have a wild time without getting overwhelmed.
Location: 400 Santa Barbara Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33991
4 Rapids Water Park
Rapids Water Park is fantastic for a day out with your family. From excellent group offers including all-you-can-eat picnics, to a wide selection of rides suitable for all ages, it’s sure to have you talking about it long after you go home! Younger children will enjoy Alligator Alley, a tricky balancing act where you have to walk across the alligators using the net above, while the daredevils among you might like to test your mettle with Brain Drain! Of course, only if an enclosed flume slide that’s 70-foot-high and sends you flying along at roughly 35 mph is your thing.
Location: 6566 N Military Trl, 1620 Sw, West Palm Beach, FL 33407-1228
5 Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
Home to some of the most exciting water-based rides in Florida, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is, unsurprisingly, a perfect fit for those wanting a family day out without worry. With great on-site eateries like the Lottawatta Lodge, to private decks for you and yours to relax on, you can happily spend a day here without fretting about the details. Some of the great rides include the incredible Summit Plummet, one of the fastest free-fall slides you’re likely to find, as well as Toboggan Racers, an 8-lane water race perfect for your younger ones!
Location: 1801 West Buena Vista Drive, Orlando, FL 32830-8436
