The main reason that this we haven't given Villa Flavia 5 stars is the fact that the second bedroom was very small for accommodating two adults and it lacked anywhere to put clothes. The third bedroom, containing an extra single bed, has room for a small wardrobe or chest of drawers and this would be an improvement. In every other aspect, this is a beautiful villa - the attention to detail, particularly externally was impressive. The outside space is lovely - lots of comfortable garden and pool furniture. Check out the pool lighting at night! The kitchen was well-equipped and we arrived to find the lots of goodies - water, fruit, biscuits, wine, juice, milk - kindly provided by Manuela and Vito. They were both friendly and helpful, and Manuela was easily contactable via mobile. A car is essential as there is nowhere within walking distance, although fresh bread can be bought at the pizzeria a few minutes drive down the road. Thank you, Manuela and Vito - especially for the gift of pastries to take to the airport! Delicious!

As a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) we absolutely loved this villa. The location is perfect and property itself is extremely charming and cosy. There's not one negative I could find. Super clean, efficient and the owners have literally thought of everything. As a keen cook the kitchen was a dream with fresh herbs, oils and supplies all surrounded by traditional crockery and facilities. It's not often the case where I actually want to cook on holiday! We'd eat on the terrace where you got the loveliest sea breeze or by the pool in one of the verandas. Even though we did go to the local supermarkets and veg stalls there's also so much fruit growing around the property and we loved going out and picking our own. The bedrooms were cosy with lots of storage space and comfy beds with fresh cotton linen and the view from our room was over the pool where if you wake up early enough you can watch the sunrise. This villa would easily accommodate 10 people too. Last but not least - the pool is amazing. Deep enough to dive and shallow enough to laze. Lots of super comfy loungers, close to the house so you can easily pop back for drinks and we spent nearly all our time here. We did hire a car and I would say that if you do want to go out and explore you 100% need one. If you book this villa - you'll love it!

A new Villa (approx. 3 years old) & decorated to a very high standard. We were extremely satisfied with the finish of every aspect of the villa - bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, etc. We were a group of 4, but you could get 6 in Ok, but the 3rd bedroom is a twin room. The villa is well located within the village of Cornino, and you can actually see a little of the sea from the garden, although it isn’t a really good view of the sea. That said, the mountains nearby are very visible & are truly stunning. It really isnt very far to the beach, albeit the beach isnt the best youll find in the area. There are a couple of pretty reasonable restaurants within walking distance, and also a couple of very nice bars, so if you don’t have a car, you can still get by. There are a couple of supermarkets about a mile or so away. The villa has a very nice pool that is kept impeccably clean. No complaints at all. It also has very helpful shower facilities alongside the pool & down the side of the villa that ensure that you don’t need to walk through the villa. The BBQ was lovely & we enjoyed a couple of very nice evenings eating outside. The BBQ is a really helpful facility. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything we reasonably needed for the stay. We ate out a fair bit, but when we stayed in there was always plenty of equipment to use. A few things to note however, there is a moderately busy road immediately behind the hedge that runs alongside the pool. This didn’t really bother us, but it should be noted. The villa is semi-detached, with another villa on the other side of the villa from the pool. They share the wall in between. On the first night we arrived there was a group of young people in the adjoining villa & they had a rather large party. To be fair it made our villa extremely noisy that night & sleep was difficult (especially difficult as we had just arrived & were all very tired) & we were pleased that they weren’t there for the rest of the week. The villa has marble floors throughout, which creates a beautiful finish, but also means that there is quite a lot of noise within. Noise seems to echo around the building a lot. The EUR 120 charge for cleaning seemed quite high, but the electricity charge wasn’t very much for us. We only paid EUR 7 for electricity, which was reasonable. This is partly because we didn’t use aircon too extensively. There isn’t aircon in the bedrooms, but rather in the hallway downstairs (outside the bedrooms) & in the living room area upstairs. This can make the bedrooms a little stuffy at night if you sleep with the doors shut (which we did as we weren’t all the same family). Having the windows open was a bit noisy as you can hear the road, nearby villas having parties & some of the bars, but that may not bother you. Finally, the directions suggest that you need to stop at a petrol station called “Energy Power”. This isn’t correct – it is Esso. We ended up driving another 5 miles or so before calling the owner & realising we had gone too far. A quick updat e of the instructions would be useful! One other small grumble was that there seemed to be a lot of people coming & going without advance notice. We had a gardener turn up, a pool cleaner & a man to empty the septic tank (I think?). It would have been nice to have had some advance notice of this really, but not a major deal. Overall the villa is a very nice one, with everything that a party of 4 or 6 would want for a short break. It is well positioned too. Just be aware that it is one of the slightly noisier villas we’ve stayed in, but that may or may not bother you & your group. The owner was very helpful & we very much enjoyed our stay in beautiful Sicilia.

Property does need a little TLC especially sofas but the view made up for everything. The owners were very good and responded to anything you needed (we asked for a DVD player). The garden area could do with a little work but overall had a fab time and would return. I am very fussy so to give a good review it must be worth it. Aircon was a bit expensive as we had 4 bedrooms and only put on during the night but cost EU210 for 12 days. PS had no problem with wasps bothering you when eating at lunchtime.

It is a perfect place for a family with two kids. Area is really quiet. Kids enjoyed the pool. BBQ needs to be replaced, although I was able to make really good fish on it. The owner does not speak English, but was friendly, helpful and punctual.

We hade a wonderful week-the house was beautifully located and very tranquil. The owner was friendly and most welcoming. We all loved the pool and outside space. The area is exquisite with a wealth of lovely places to visit and excellent choice of restaurants. We will certainly return.

The charge for electricity was excessive which meant that we were obliged to restrict the use of the AC and pool filter, items such as these should have been included in the price since they are essential and the rental was high.It was unfair to make a charge over 200 kw.It was extremely hot. The villa was not clean enough when we arrived . floors had not been properly swept and the £80.00 cleaning charge is excessive . The villa sleeps 8 but the lounge area lacked comfortable chairs as did the pool area, only 4 people could sit in the lounge with any degree of comfort and the pool chaire require covers. Whilst we enjoyed our stay these factors became major irritants

The home was beautiful, and the grounds were even prettier than the pictures. The pool is exceptionally nice. The owners were friendly and helpful. There is a lovely view of the mountains from the patio of the house. Access to the sea is good, a 5 minute drive away. The breezes were always good and the house opens up well enough that we never once felt the need to turn the air conditioning on even though it was July. Everything was at least as good as we expected it to be, other than that the mattresses in the second bedroom were way too soft. We had a wonderful time there, and would go back again.

The property was in an excellent location with fantastic views over the bay of Castellammare, the layout of the villa is very good for couples traveling together as it provides bedrooms and bathrooms on three floors with a good degree of privacy.The pool and terrace areas are very good also, with plenty of sunbathing areas and shade available, although the sun loungers and furniture have seen better days, there were no mattress provided for the sun loungers so they were not very comfortable. The interior is well laid out and the seating and furniture is satisfactory, however some of the kitchen fittings could do with replacing. There is an good restaurant within a 5 minute stroll, the food is good and the menu runs from pizza and pasta through to fish dishes and lobster, all at reasonable prices. The restaurants in the old port are very good and a drive down is a must, on balance the food is superior to the restaurant close by.Over all the few short comings of the villas equipment are made up for by the location and the fantastic views, i would recommend it for a good lazy weeks holiday with a couple of must do trips, one to the splendid hill town of Erice and the other to the temple of Segasta. The local beaches are very good and the sea is shallow for a a distance which is good for children, the seaside village of Spolleto is a 10 minute drive and has a smaller beach that is nice and less busy in a good setting.

We were welcomed by the friendly owner of the property and two charming representatives of Villarenters. The villa was in good condition and, although there were some niggly bits (i.e. the shower temperature fluctuated widely), the location was simply stunning. Views of the sea, mountains and small port could not have been better. The outdoor areas included a super bbq and pool(not in use at the time). Inside, equipment and facilities were basic but more than adequate for our group of six. The town and surrounding countryside were unspoiled and tourists rarely encountered. We stayed there for a week in March and days alternated between hot and cold. However, the villa's central heating system coped just fine and provided a cosy and pleasant environment. Plenty to do on a rainy day with fascinating day trips to Marsala and Palermo. Slightly isolated, about 1 mile into Castellammare, so not ideal for restaurants. But all in all, a great success and we would recommend the place with little hesitation.
