Blackhorse Property Management

We stayed at this property from the 2nd – 16th May.  We should have been a party of 4 but unfortunately a member of our party died on the 2nd May so only two of us stayed.

On arrival the property certainly has the WOW factor, but gradually it becomes apparent that it is not as good as you would expect.

Firstly we would like to say that the Agent was superb, very helpful and went far beyond what we would expect in helping us, especially on such a sad day for us.

After a few hours we noticed that the curtains were in a poor state, they should either be replaced or cleaned and in some places repaired.  The bedroom we used downstairs you could not open the curtains at all.  There were no tie-backs so we had to use the string hanging from the top of the curtains to tie them back during the day to let light in.

On the first evening we put the Satellite TV on and all the stations were in Spanish.  We sent a message to the agent and she came the next day with a new TV box.  She managed to get everything working but to be honest the reception was so bad it was practically impossible to watch football, or any sport, as the screen kept going on “go-slow” or freezing completely.  We tried the Video channels which had a huge selection of films.  Every single film we tried to watch the volume was so low we could not hear it.  At one stage we pulled the sofa right up to the TV to try and hear it.  My brother had an apartment less than 3 miles from this villa and never had any reception problems.

In the lounge there are six patio doors, only two of these could be opened by manually removing a screw on the bottom sliding rail and putting it back in to secure the sliding door.  There were no keys at all for any of the patio doors.  There was also no key for the back door which meant you could not open the doors to have air circulation.  At the beginning it did not matter as it was not too hot but on the last couple of days it was a lot hotter.  At least we did find that the air conditioning worked.

A couple of nights into our holiday I went upstairs to use the spa bath.  After filling it with water I then found that the bath did not work.  It did not appear to have any power getting to the control panel.

The frying pans etc were not in good condition and would definitely have been thrown out if they were ours.  The crockery and cutlery were a bit of a mis-match.

Opposite the villa there was a construction site.  The builders were working all day (apart from weekends) and there was a huge crane whooshing over our heads whilst laying by the pool.  There was a constant flow of heavy builders and lorries and cement mixers going up and down the road.
We appear to have paid a lot of money for the pleasure of this experience.

The wooden pergola over the outside eating area was in a bad state of repair and does not look like it has been stained or treated for quite a few years.

Two days into the holiday we saw a FOR SALE sign on the pedestrian gate.  We can only presume that this explains the poor state of repair of the villa.

When paying 5,500 Euros for a 2 week stay we would have expected the place to be immaculate.  The villa was spotlessly clean.  We were surprised that there wasn’t a cleaner coming in at all, not even to change the bedding after one week.  Apparently this is extra.  There was also no welcoming pack of milk etc, but fortunately the Agent helped us with this.

After a few days we complained to the Agent about some of the problems and were advised that our comments would be passed to the Owner for comment.  The response we have received from the Owner is ………………………..ZERO.


Superb peaceful private 4 bedroom villa with stunning views

Just returned from a 2 week break at this villa &amp; had a very relaxing time.  The property is beautiful &amp; the surrounding areas very secluded. The views nearby are amazing.
The pool was a fantastic size, the biggest pool we have ever had at a rented villa.
On arrival we were met by Jill who is a lovely friendly lady. I also had previous email correspondence wilth Jill which was very efficient.
The villas location made it easy for visiting other areas, we went to Puerto Banus, Marbella, Estepona, Benahavis &amp; had a day in Gibraltar. 
The only downside I would say is the villa did not have air conditioning. There were fans in the bedrooms but they needed to be on all night to make it bearable for sleeping. Just air conditioning in the bedrooms would have made a huge difference. 
Apart from that the villa was perfect.  I would definitely recommend to friends &amp; family &amp; hopefully will be lucky enough to come back in the future.

We spent a very pleasant week in this beautiful property. The surrounding area, restauarants and promenade were excellent. The villa is ideally located for visiting Marbella and Porto Banus.

A well-appointed villa with a beautiful garden and terrace - the best features. This made a relaxing base for our family of three generations to relax in and explore from.  Jill was very helpful as we missed a turn on the motorway and then couldnt make sense of the directions. Perhaps include the post-code for the villa to help those using a sat-nav? 

The shower in the main bathroom was ready for a deep-clean and the sheets in the main bedroom were torn and stained. 

Otherwise, this villa was very comfortable and provided a very enjoyable stay for us all - from 9 months to 60 years old.

An absolutely brilliant villa in an excellent location for Puerto Banus and the many golf courses in the area.

Unbelievable value and great personal service from Jill and Shirley.  We will definitely be back.  It would be a great venue for a large family or group of friends - it has everything you could want.

I was very impressed with this Villa, it exceeded our views on what we saw from the photos. So we were very impressed when we arrived. it had all the mod cons and was a few minutes walk from the beach. The local shop could of been a bit closer, but all the same, it was a nice 10 minute stroll, and short taxi ride back with all the bags. We will definately be going back and recommending to friends.
