About

Carvoeiro Villa Holidays and Management is a small family-run property management company operating in Carvoeiro and the surrounding areas. Susie the owner lives locally and speaks English, Portuguese, French and German. We have been established for over 20 years and pride ourselves in taking the best possible care of the villas and apartments that we manage. Susie first came on holiday to Carvoeiro in the 1990's and fell in love with the area straight away, returning year after year until eventually deciding to uproot from her home in the UK and settle locally. Although there have been some changes to the surrounding areas over the years, Carvoeiro itself remains largely unchanged and still has the charm, character and friendliness of the small fishing village that Susie first fell in love with, while the amazing array of restaurants, bars and water sports facilities make it instantly appealing to visitors.

This property is lovely. Very spacious and enough bathrooms to make life easy the outside space is perfect. It is a good 20 minutes to the village your return journey is all uphill but we walked down and picked an Uber up to go back. The Uber service is fab and we used them all the time very good value and we didn't want to hire a car. We booked a transfer sadly he just didn't turn up and didn't advise us either which we were very cross about...again Uber came to the rescue and was cheaper. I wouldn't chose to have a welcome package again as the contents were not to our taste and included 2 lbs of sugar or a week!!! (Especially as there was already loads of sugar in the kitchen.) But that aside I would definitely go back to this lovely villa.

Amazing villa! Susie was so helpful, especially when our flight was cancelled and we had to extend our stay. Would definitely recommend The Quinta and Carvoeiro Holidays

The villa was immaculately presented with all the household items you could need. The few issues we experienced over the trip were responded to quickly. We hired hot tub and kept water cool which was brilliant for end of hot days. The shared complex pool was also kept very clean and the bar drinks/food really good. One thing to note is that it costs €5 per day per sun lounger used at the pool - this fairly added up for 6 adults over the course of a week. Under 16s do not pay.

Lovely villa with all amenities you'd need. Nice garden and patio area. Didn't use the pool at The Lighthouse, but looked fine. Quiet area but enough restaurants/bars in walking distance and they were fine. Very enjoyable holiday.

A lovely, comfortable holiday home. Everything was spotless and well equipped. Very helpful agent. I stayed with my 91 year old father, whose mobility is not great, but being all on one level it was ideal.

The villa was in a perfect area which was lovely and peaceful the views were good too , restaurants locally were also great so overall 5 star holiday , only one comment is there was only one toilet roll in each bathroom and no washing up liquid in the kitchen , minor things but necessary .

We had a wonderful week long stay in this beautiful villa outside Silves. The villa was located in the countryside in a lovely quiet area with chickens, goats, horses and dogs next door and fab views. The villa was very comfortable, extremely clean and well equipped for everything we needed during our stay. The pool was fantastic and where we spent a lot of our time. The water was just the perfect temperature and the depth was perfect for us too. There was a local cafe which was only a few minutes walk away where we could get our coffee in the mornings. Silves is only a short drive away and we had never been there before but it was a beautiful little town to walk around with a fabulous castle and not as touristy as other places at all. There were plenty of supermarkets and shops to get supplies We visited some of the beaches which were only a 20/25 minute drive away and the water park was only 15 minutes away. Susie was great to deal with and overall we had a brilliant holiday and would definitely recommend the villa!

The villa itself is absolutely stunning and very clean with fantastic views. Quiet area and convenient location (car hire is a must). However, the pool was unusable. There was something wrong with the water. Our children broke out in sores which we firstly put down to costume chafing. The water tasted very sweet too! We therefore had a break from the pool to allow healing. Once fully healed we then allowed the children to play in the pool without costumes where they were in it for no longer than 5 minutes before they were complaining of being sore again. Again, we had to have a break from the pool and attended some water parks and beaches instead where they were absolutely fine, and wearing costumes! Desperately wanting to use the pool we paid for, we tried for the third time, but again, sores broke out almost instantly. We therefore had to stop using the pool altogether. We spoke to the pool maintenance man who confirmed that there was something wrong with the water and stated he needed to “ideally treat it every day because of the hot weather”. On our return to the uk, we contacted the management company to inform them and to request some sort of compensation, but it was declined and they kept coming back with arguments saying the pool was fine comparing it with other stays. We know there was something wrong with that water during our stay regardless of other peoples.

Dear Marc, your review is unjustified and totally unfair. The pool water was checked just prior to your arrival during a standard pool maintenance visit and both the chlorine levels and PH balance were well within the normal parameters. On the third day of your holiday you mentioned to the pool maintenance man on his regular visit that one of your children had some sores on his skin. The pool man checked the water balance and confirmed that the water was within normal parameters and that there were not enough chemicals in the water to cause a reaction, so something else must have caused it. The pool man tested the pool every third or fourth day during your stay, as is standard procedure, and on each occasion the chlorine and PH levels were well within normal parameters. Strangely, you did not report this “problem” to management while you were here, even though the contract that you signed before arrival contains the following paragraph: “Please report to Management any problems or complaints about the property whilst you are in the resort. They will endeavour to rectify any problems as quickly as possible. If you decide to vacate the property or take any other actions without contacting Management or allowing reasonable time for the problem to be rectified, all claims for compensation or refund will be forfeited. Any problems or complaints not notified during your stay cannot be considered”. You only mentioned to management about the sores after you had arrived home in the UK and asked for compensation. Unfortunately by this time it was too late for us to see the child’s sores to verify that you may have had cause for complaint, nor did it allow us an opportunity to send an independent pool technician to check the chemical levels of the pool while you were still here, which, if they had been found to have been outside of the normal parameters, we would have had the situation rectified immediately. Upon receiving your complaint after your departure, we immediately sent an operative from a different pool company to the one we usually use, to check the water levels, just to be sure that our usual pool man wasn’t mistaken because obviously we don’t want any of our guests to have problems, and it was confirmed by the other company that the chemical levels and PH balance were within normal parameters and that the water contained nothing that was likely to cause a skin reaction. During the month of July prior to your arrival the pool had been used by both guests and the villa owners who used the pool daily with no adverse reactions whatsoever. Further guests arrived later on the same day of your departure, a family with children and they used the pool every day without problems. Another family has been staying for the past week and they also told us how delighted they were with the villa, again there no problems whatsoever with the pool. Therefore it has to be concluded that some other factor caused your child’s skin complaint, possibly a reaction to sun cream, or the fact that he spent too many hours wearing wet swimming trunks, or a heat rash. But it was definitely not the pool water, so these findings, plus the fact that you did not report the problem while you were here (you had a whole two weeks to report this!!) meant you were not eligible to receive any compensation, and this, I suspect, is the real reason for your negative review.

Casa Isabel is a spacious, well presented villa within a lovely location. We were a family of 5 + 2 friends. It housed 7 very comfortably. Clean and tidy throughout with spacious rooms. The garden is private with a great bbq area, and several seating/table options. The roof terrace is a bonus comprising lovely comfortable seating with stunning views out to the sea. Our only slight gripe was that the mattresses in the bedrooms are really firm (which may suit some). And restricted to 1 pillow each. Other than this, a perfect venue and a fabulous holiday location. Recommend a car for getting out and about too. Would definately recommend this villa to family and friends.

We had an amazing time. Villa seems bigger than on pictures. It was great for our little one as secure outside area. Very private and not overseen by other people. Water was playing up a little bit in showers but might be due to drainage in Portugal. Close to the beach Would love to come back one day. Barbora
