Good points:
Location; end of quiet cul-de-sac & walking distance to restaurants, seaside promenade etc.
Clean pool with outdoor shower.
Lots of clothes storage space.
2 rooms had a safe.
Electricity trips often; the once we couldn’t reset it, Mary the local contact, sorted it the following day.
The other reviews of the villa made no reference to what could make it better, so these are our suggestions:
> Online info could be improved - beach towels? safes? etc. Query raised with owner before departure from UK responded to after our arrival in Cyprus.
> However, contact in Cyprus (Mary) very helpful re. a/c difficulty on arrival. This situation could have been avoided with some info in the villa about amenities, a/c, TV, rubbish, recycling, locality restaurants, places of interest etc.
> Attention to detail: cleaning equipment & messy tarpaulin discarded outside villa to greet us on arrival.
> More seating/lounging - just enough for 6 (but not advertised 9).
> More crockery & water/juice tumblers (we bought 6).
> Bigger microwave.
> Kitchen scales.
> More tea towels.
> Dishwasher.
> Hand towels for everyone & separate beach towels.
> DVD that works (or instructions?).
> Improved cleaning inside & out. Of particular note - bedrooms, large rug in master bedroom was filthy & had bits of glass in it; blood on a bedspread, cobwebs etc in outside seating area & loungers etc.
> As the owner lives locally a courtesy visit would be nice & signal the intention to make guests welcome - just a thought.
Summary. Great location but a bit tired.
At the end of quiet cul-de-sac of 9 villas (all look in better nic than #5, Villa Elena).
Could easily be improved with attention to detail, better cleaning, some information for visitors & enough equipment for advertised number of guests. Bringing the villa up to the standard of its neighbours will require more effort.
Would still recommend to others if our suggestions are acknowledged
