About
The house is a family home that my Mum, Auntie Edna and Grandma moved into in 1940 and in those days a rented the property, My Aunt never married and decided to purchase the house, as I recollect, in the early 1960's. Thus I have been travelling to Sackville Street all my life. Edna past away in 2009 in her early 90's. She spent the last days in her home until she went into hospital 3 days prior to her passing .. She generously left us the house which holds many fond memories for me and my own family. She loved to spoil my two daughters .. just as she had spoilt me .. The biggest Easter eggs, and the most generous and thoughtful birthday and Christmas gifts. She was fixture in Hebden Bridge during the towns reinvention from a textile town of working folk to a vibrant modern community that is inclusive and tolerant and outward looking that embraces change and an entrepreneurial spirit whilst proudly guarding working class heritage. The town and the community have been recognized by many as an example of what is possible when good folks come together.
We are most proud of our association with the Town and hope you come and visit and we will work hard to ensure that the house adds to a great stay in Hebden Bridge.
