If you wish to venture a little further afield there is plenty to do, including visiting the Cliffs of Moher with breathtaking views, one of the essential places to see on the popular Wild Atlantic Way. If you fancy a game of golf there are clubs in Lahinch and Doonbeg. Alternatively, catch a ferry from Doolin to the Aran Islands or enjoy a walk along The Burren Way. The town is renowned for the cascades, which pass over the river, plus a walk to the top of Church Hill to view breathtaking scenery is essential. Craft shops with traditional fronts, fine restaurants, pubs with Irish music, plus a food and craft fair held on Sunday's, mean that there is something for everyone in this delightful town. Close to Ennistymon is O'Brien Castle, which dates back to 1588, plus there are golf courses in Lahinch and Doonbeg and for a superb day out the stunning Cliffs of Moher are close by.
