Vonyarcvashegy:
Vonyarcvashegy is located on the northern side of Lake Balaton, at the foot of the Keszthely Hills. It is one of the most popular bathing resorts amongst foreign and Hungarian tourists alike, due to its location and geographical features. The sandy part of its beach is perfect for children to play in and the watersports available here include windsurfing, canoeing, and wakeboarding or waterskiing on the 820m long pentagon shaped course. You can find a wide range of restaurants, cafes, small supermarkets, gift and clothes shops, tennis courts, a nightclub, tourist information office and a post office nearby. You can go fishing, cycling on the cycle path or go walking in the nearby hills using the footpaths that lead into a national park. You can also visit the church on top of Szent Mihaly Hill, which has spectacular views over the lake.
Lake Balaton:
The "Hungarian Sea", is the peoples name for the 50 mile long lake with silky green-yellow water in the middle of Transdanubia. Lake Balaton is one of Hungarys most precious treasures and most frequented resort. It is the largest lake in Central Europe. At its center, the depth is 52.5 ft. The summer water temperature of around 80F is warmer than the air in the morning and in the evening. The water and the silky mud of the lake are very good remedies for nervous complaints, anemia and nervous fatigue.

Places of interest:
KESZTHELY (3km) is the largest and oldest settlement of Lake Balaton. The beautiful Festetics Palace surrounded by an English park, is the third largest chateau in the country. Its library contains 86 thousand books. Weekly concerts are organized in the music hall of mirrors.
HEVIZ: [Hot Water] (9km) is the second largest hot-water lake in the world, at a temperature of 90F, open-air bathing is very pleasant even in winter. Massage and treatments are also available.
SZIGLIGET (20km) has a unique atmosphere with its houses creeping up the hillside and its green gardens. There is a stunning panorama from the ruins of the 13th-century Szigliget Fortress on Castle Hill. The Esterhazy Palace is now a house for writers. There are more than150 types of pine trees in its well-kept park.
TIHANY: (60km) The twin-towered church of the Tihany peninsula is distinctly visible far and wide. A very charming village with spectacular views over the lake

Climate: There are four seasons, with a very warm summer (max. 33C) from Jun-Aug. Spring and Autumn are mild, whilst winters are very cold.
