The popular Wednesday morning market is a joy with its many stall-holders selling delicious seasonal produce alongside Provençal crafts and look out for the Creators Market on weekly evenings in the summer.

Follow the footsteps of Van Gogh, visit the famous Saint-Paul de Mausole and be amazed by the Roman site of Glanum, just south of the town. Medieval villages are dotted amongst the idyllic landscapes of Les Alpilles Regional Nature Park such as Les Baux-de-Provence, Maussane and Eygalières or head further afield to other gems of Provence such as Arles, Avignon and Gordes.

Hike, cycle or ride on horse-back through vineyards, olive groves and farmland, passing glorious landscapes of rolling hills, dense forests and limestone rocks – this part of southern France will enchant you.
