2-bedroom cosy cottage located high in the Clwydian hills with stunning valley views, and surrounded by farmland. Features: Log burner; comfy beds; private garden with BBQ and parking.
Gwenoldy is an 18th Century converted barn, set in the grounds of our 17th Century Welsh farmhouse. It has a private, fenced garden with garden furniture, patio, fire-pit and BBQ, and access to a field garden beyond (shared space). There are 2-bedrooms upstairs: main bedroom has a king bed and the second room has twin beds. The bathroom is also upstairs. The kitchen/breakfast room is fully fitted (dish-washer, washing-machine, gas stove etc) with everything you need for a self-catering holiday, but there are also many local eateries if you want that total break. The sitting room has smart TV with Netflix, a wood-burning stove and desk area if you need to work, and a good selection of films, books, maps and games. There is free parking behind the cottage for one vehicle.
Access from Afonwen is up a steep, narrow road, and we are set high in the hills which affords spectacular views and easy access to Offas' Dyke and great walking trails. You won't hear road noise but you may hear cows, sheep, chickens, owls, foxes and farm machinery.
Use the cottage as a base for exploring the castles and beaches of North Wales; activity adventures such as white water rafting, ziplines and kayaking; or cycling, playing or relaxing along the coastline. Snowdonia, Anglesey Chester and Liverpool can all be accessed in under an hour making us a great base for a holiday of variety. Or - stay put enjoying picnics, watching the hens pecking about, enjoy a camp-fire or star gaze with our super telescope.
