Cyprus
Temperatures in general remain pleasant in Cyprus during October, with Paphos being particularly lovely and enjoying 10 hours of sunshine! The evenings are much cooler than in the summer months though which can be something of a relief for those of us who prefer to admire the sun from the shade.
Malta
Malta is another location which benefits from fewer crowds in October, as well as enjoying an average temperature of 25°C, making it a perfectly lovely place to visit if you want some winter sun. The sea reaches 24°C too which is great for swimming and water sports too so all in all, you can’t complain!
Ibiza
Ibiza is great in October, not only is the weather still beautifully warm but many of the clubs start holding some of their last big celebrations to wave goodbye to the party season. Generally, things begin to get quieter too and Ibiza reclaims its laid-back vibe, meaning you can enjoy long lunches and far less crowded beaches. The sea temperatures can dip but 24°C is an average attainable warmth meaning swimming is still very much an option. Not bad eh?
Italy
Italy can range from sea temperatures of 19°C to 23°C, with areas like Sorrento being especially good for warm waters in October. True, all regions can expect showers during this time of year, but with plenty of sunny days and cheaper accommodation, beautiful Italy still has plenty to offer.
Dubai
Dubai is another location that boasts glorious temperatures and delightfully warm sea so it’s well worth a visit when it comes to October swimming. It’s also, happily, far less likely to endure a great deal of rain during this month and there are plenty of beaches to enjoy the sun on too!
Barbados
Barbados, and in particular, Bridgetown, is an ever-popular location for holidaymakers who want to get away from dreary October days and instead enjoy a second summer. October also means there's fewer tourists and of course, amazingly warm sea temperatures.
Maldives
The Maldives enjoys year-round good weather and warm sea temperatures, making it great for chasing October sun. October makes up part of the rainy season, but typically this should tail off and you’ll still be able to enjoy days at the beach.
