About

We have been visiting Croatia since 1968 and when, In 2003, we had the opportunity to purchase Harbour House, Bol and Orange Grove House, Postira, both on the Island of Brac on the Dalmatian coast, we jumped at it. We have never regretted this and hope that our guests feel as happy in Croatia as we do. Croatia is a wonderful country. It is clean and pristine. The sea is completely crystalline and clear and a joy for swimming and the watersports that Croatia offers are absolutely fantastic.

We had an amazing stay at Harbour House. Literally a heavenly location with views to die for. House really rustic and quirky but had all you need for the perfect stay.

Lovely property. 7 adults including 4 teens, plenty of room, but description not accurate. Had to pay tourist tax even though it states this is included. The tv was not working (2 very wet days!). Phoned and was told someone would come that afternoon to fix it. No one came. According to complaints book found later on top of fridge tv has not worked since 2008! No BBQ, oven gloves or outside light on stairs down to second bathroom which couldnt be used during the night. The lock on inside bathroom door was broken. Such a shame these faults have just been left. All of the above have been mentioned previously but ignored. Would recommend this lovely villa if basic repairs carried out. What a pity they cant be bothered.

We had a fantastic holiday. The villa had everything we could possibly have needed even down to emergency telephone numbers, phrase book and recommendations of where to eat and places to visit. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful with their recommendations and the owners friend Tony called several times to make sure everything was alright. Five minutes from the villa was a large Supermarket which had a selection of everything we needed and beside it was three bars/restaurants also a new restaurant opened while we were there all provided very good food and were very child friendly. The area was quiet, had little traffic and the children loved the play areas and see ing the peacocks. I would have not problems recommending the villa to my family and friends.

Lovely old stone house in the middle of the small seaside town. Large bedrooms but one small single room. Kitchen was decent and a lovely al fresco dinner table. It was great for having dinners outside. It was a great place to stay.

Bol is delightful and the position and outlook from Harbour House - especially the balcony is outstanding. The house itself is nicely decorated although the layout of kitchen on the ground floor and alot of stairs to the balcony means that to take full advantage required much carrying - and the stairs are fairly steep. One major improvement would be a book of the house with tips such as: do not try to have windows open at night - there is a huge amount of noise with one bar in particular going on till 2.30 am. We learnt by day 3/4 that the solution was to leave doors open and air conditioning on at night with each of the three layers of shutter/window/double glazing shut - which worked like a charm and totally explained why they are there... Unfortunately the parasol was broken - and the table on the balcony is obviously not long for this life. With the result that most of the day the balcony was too hot to use. Also, we found that Zlatni Rat as a beach was unusably crowded from circa 11am and it also took us a while to find the beaches in the direction of the monastery which are much nicer and more used by locals. The beach just in front of the pier is surprisingly good for a swim/sunbathe... One further tip - if climbing up to Vidora Gora (the mountain) the guides are ridiculously optimistic with one quoting a one hour walk and another 2 hours. Allow three. But the views are really worth it and there is a restaurant at the top to refresh you even if the car park up there does initially seem to make a mockery of the exertions of the climb! The beaches are very stony and sea shoes arent really optional if you want to play in the water, so buy them as soon as you arrive or bring them with you. Also beach rolls - we found some in Konsum for 5 Kuna which we left for the next occupants - which we hope they will benefit from as the house seemed to have been somewhat cleaned out between lets when we arrived - always a little annoying when you think what Harbour House in particular costs...

We were very pleased when we got to the orange grove house - The rooms are lovely - beautifull old building with lovely furniture . The location is great close to everything. The beds where excellent. But there where some downsides - we travelled early may - and had coldish wet weather several days - this made things a bit claustraphobic - the house was cold. The downstairs bathroom was also cold - and you have to go outside and down some stairs to get to it - not what you want on cold wet days - but upstairs bathroom good - great shower. The upstairs living room is awkwardly furnished and small - the kids used it as a play room - ideal for that - but not somewhere to sit and relax for adults - as we had bad weather this was a problem for us - the terasse is lovely - but not rain proof ! The balcony you see in the picture with flowers is not for use - there is a small one on the inside of it but with no furniture. But all in all the house is lovely - and charming - and good value for money - some heating in bathrooms would be good for colder periods - but in sommer season this must be a lovely place to stay - recomend anyone to take a walk to nearby village "dol"(30 - 40 mins) and eat at dinos - with football pitch across the road - delicios food - adults and children where delighted!

Excellent location, which goes a long way to deciding value for money. We found the verandah a delight, and used it all the time - but there is really no other lounge area suitable for the 6 of us. The property is overall very clean, but attention to detail, and to some maintenance issues, would improve its appeal. We were a little disappointed by the downstairs bathroom facilities, but the first floor bathroom is outstandingly good. We had a really enjoyable holiday, slept comfortably and well, and were reluctant to have to leave and return to UK.

Wow - what a lovely place. Super stone house with big cool rooms and a gorgeous shaded dining area. Throwing open the shutters in the morning and being greeted with the sparkling sea spreading out in front of us was far in excess of what we expected. Really lovely holiday home.
